Phra Kaew Morakot Roon 3, BE. Phra Gaew Morakut LP Jiang 2491 - 2500 Wat Chareon Sukaram, Samut Songkram. (History and sacred amulets of LP Jiang Wat Chareon Sukaram Worawihan, the creator of famous glass buddha image). Talking about the greatest chanting ceremony, Jinnaraj Indochine 2485 is consider one of the greatest chanting ceremonies ever held during the Indochine war. This batch of amulet created were given to the Thais soldier for safety. Therefore, monks with great magical charm & expertise were invited to attend the blessing ceremony. A total 108 monks such as Somdet Phra Sangaraj Pae Wat Suthat, Somdet Puttajan Nuam Wat Anongkaram, LP Phit Wat Kammang, LP Plian, LP Jad, LP Jong, LP Kong, LP Ee, LP Jiang Wat Chareon Sukaram & etc blessed the amulets. In the early years, LP Jiang built only the takrud to be given away to layman.
The building process requires LP Jiang to go down under the water in front of the temple as learned which is considered very rare at present. Just like how LP Suk of Wat Pak Klong Makam Tao built & blessed his takrud tainam underwater. (Phra Gaew 1st Edition BE2491). Built in 2490 of green glass with a homogeneous appearance Lord Buddha sitting in meditation posture. His hands are place above the thigh, the hands are adjacent, not a furrow & the base of the Buddha image has two levels of sharp lotus.
The top Ket is longer than the second Ket. The Buddha image is plump and beautiful & the glass body is green. There are no air bubbles and excess meat. Made in Italy by closed disciples and present to LP Jiang for blessing. Built a total of 300 pieces & given out only to closed disciples in 2491.
Leftover were kept in LP Jiang kuti. Some information stated that 40 to 50pcs was lost during flooding occurs in temple which make it even lesser. To those who had received it from LP Jiang, it is very much cherished and are often passed only among generation or relatives. (Phra Gaew 2nd Edition BE2493). In 2493, a 2nd batch Phra Kaew was built due to demand among close disciples.As disciples of LP Jiang continue to soar so are the demand of Phra Kaew amulets. The 2nd edition were built in Japan. A total of 10,000 pieces were built.
The Buddha image was taller and slender than the 1st edition. The top Ket is shorter than the second Ket and come in 7 colors according to the color of day, Red, Yellow, White Glass, Green, Orange Tea, Blue & Purple. During the incantation rituals, it can be heard that many of the glass buddha clashing against one another which make loud noise like glass clashing and spinning sound. LP Jiang start picking up the trembling glass buddha one after another and place it on another bowl. Then he said, all these glass buddha are fully blessed and it will give you good trade, good prosperity, good fortune and protect you against any harm.
Many were given to Thai soldiers who went to war. (Phra Gaew 3rd Edition BE2500). A 3rd edition glass buddha were built in 2500 and custom made in Thailand. The glass has 5 colors, Green, Turquoise, Purple, Orange & clear white. The glass buddha image has many bubbles unlike the 1st & 2nd edition.
The appearance and size are very similar to 1st edition. But the workmanship is very much different. This Buddha will bring you good luck and strong Protection.
