Luang Phor Derm Wat NongPo BE. Was a very compassionate monk. He had helped built a lot of temples not only in Nakhon Sawan but also in nearby provinces. His great work had gained the hearts and respect from people throughout Thailand. Luangpor Derm is a famous guru monk of Thailand, his holy items are famous and many people wear.
Luangpor Derm is abbot of WatNongpoh temple of Nakhonsawan(City of Heaven) province, he is No. 1 guru monk of the city.
The monk born twice, first when he birth the body died. His mom made a mark at his feet, pray for fate to bring him back again if they're parent. When his mom pregnant and given birth the second time, the child born with the same mark at his feet like previous body. Given name "Derm" which mean "Originally". When he was young, he help his farmer family close to Nongpoh village, growup ordained by 31 October B. 2423 at WatKaogaw temple, given monk's title Luangpor Derm "Buddhasaroh"(One who respect merit of Buddha). First teacher is Luangtar Chom, abbot of WatNongpoh temple, master student of Luangpu Rod of WatNongpoh temple, a famous spells knowledge and expert in vipassana meditation monk during the time.After 7 years of studied, he continue to learn from Archan Pan and Luangpor Mee WatBanbon. He continue to learn dharma from Archam Yam.
Luangpor Derm studied meditation and knowledge spells from Luangpor Teth of WatSratalay, how to consecrated holy items and awaken elements of them, Knowledge of protection mantras to prayer body. History said that once Luangpor Teth passed away, there're amulets batch that referees of the temple want Lp. During his life he renovated over 30 temples, schools, monastrys etc. When he became famous, said that many offer monk robes to him from all over Thailand.
What he do is keep wearing the same old one, maybe "originally" as his name. He gave all monk robes out to every temples that need and people, no matter how famous he had become, he alway stick to his root. His merit to give to others are well known to everyone until 30 December B. The King Rama 6th of Thailand given rank of "PhraKru Dhamakhan" to him, he didn't take it though his students visit the palace and parade the rank back to his temple. Other common of his name is "Luangpor PhrakruDerm".
He is one strict monk his whole life, alway have book palm cover of dharma teaching carry with him anywhere until his last day. All about dharma rule, vipassana meditation practice, daily chanting mantras. He alway teach himself in the way of Dharma his whole life. During his life, he's caring for many pets.Most of his favorite animal was elephant. Said that when he go anywhere, he's alway ride on it.
2494 when Luangpor Derm return back from ceremony, leader to build monastry hall of WatIntrararm temple, he gather all monks and referee, given his will to Lp. Noi who'll be the next abbot of WatNongpoh.
He know that he'll passed way and his time is come. By the day he passed away 22 May, said that all elephants do not listen to mahout, it don't want to out for work and no one can control them. All want to stay at WatNongpoh temple, don't want to drink or eat. Last blessing of Luangpor Derm was the rain, he asked villager that how is the field this year, it was dry up. He then pray meditation and in half and hour, the rain come.
The blessing of rain and the meditation pose he passed away at an age of 92 years old, 70 years in the monk hood. During the funeral, all people received his part of relics, these are rare and worship until present day.
As people belief, he is one PhraArrahant of Thailand. 24032494 was known to have kept many elephants. He cast a spell on every elephant's legs and sometimes fed them with blessed grass. LP Derm was often invited to many temples to preside over the ordain ceremony.
When he was getting old, he reached the destination temples by elephants. All his elephants were very tamed. After reaching the temple, LP Derm just let the elephant go freely to feed by itself in the nearby area. Amazingly, when the ceremony going to end with some chanting chapter, the elephants would go back by itself and kneeled down in front of the Bosth to pick him up and bring him back to Wat NongPho. LP Derm loved all of his elephants.He had special knowledges (Yana) to detect elephants' mind and to communicate with them. When LP Derm passed away, his elephants cried with grief and some of them refused to eat anything. LP Derm was a great builder.
He helped build more than 30 temples in Nakornsawan and nearby provinces, such as Phichit, Pitsanulok and Chainat. His benevolence was so great, he cared about the water in temple's pond which was the main blood vessel for all monks in the temple. He was very happy if the pond was full of water. When the pond was shallow in the dry season, he was worried and going to the Bosth to meditate and beg for rain. The day he passed away, his monk disciples had told him that the water level was very low, and if there was no rain in a few days, the pond would dry up.LP Derm nodded his head while he was lying ill on the floor. "My sons I'm going to leave this world, I wish you all be good monks and be happy forever, so don't worry about the water in the pond", he said. A few minutes later, he passed away.
Suddenly, the lightning flashed in the sky and a clap of thunder striked and rained heavily! Only one hour later the pond was full of water again. The great monk often miraculously passed away in this manner. LP Derm was born on Wednesday the 6th February B.
1860 in Nakhon Sawan province. When LP Derm was 20, he got ordained at Wat Khao Kaew, Nakhon Sawan Province on the 31st October B. After ordination, LP Derm stayed at Wat Nong Pho, Nakhon Sawan province.He had learnt dharma, meditation, Pali and magic from LP Chom, an abbot of Wat Nong Pho at that time for 7 years. LP Derm went to learn more magic from many magical experts such as AJ Phan Chuphan, LP Mee of Wat Ban Bon, AJ Yam of Wat Srathalay, LP Noom and so on. LP Derm is an uncommon monk. He knew the date of his death. 1951, LP Derm called his close disciple and a vice abbot to meet.
LP Derm said he would die soon and ordered a vice abbot to help people and develop the temple for him. On the 22nd May B. 1951, LP Derm was seriously ill. On that day, there was a strange happening that the elephants that LP Derm had ever helped went to the temple to mourn for LP Derm. More wonder, before LP Derm passed away about half an hour, he asked people about the pond near his temple.
The people told him that water in the pond nearly ran out. If the water was all gone, the villagers would be in difficulty.
After LP Derm knew that, he did meditation for a moment. When LP Derm finished meditation, there was rain for 30 minutes---that was very wonderful! When talking about superb protective talisman in the past, we, Thai people think of magical knife of Luangpho Derm, Wat Nong Pho, Nakhon Sawan province. Knife from LP Derm is regarded very powerfully protective against all dangers and bad powers.
One legend, Field Marshal Plaek Phibunsongkhram, the longest-in-position prime minster of Thailand 15 years: C. On 9 November 1938, Sir Marshal was sniped. Miraculously, sniper could not fire the gun for 2 times. Then he chased and fired Sir Marshal until bullets ran out, but Sir Marshal was not damaged at all. At last, the sniper was arrested.
On that day, Sir Marshal had a small knife LP Derm in his shirt! He began making amulets in C. 1927 to give to his disciples.
According to information from people, they tell that LP Derm liked to look after animals for using like a horse and an elephant. When animals died like an eleplant, LP Derm kept the tusks to make amulet where history of amulets by LP Derm came from.
Some of them are protective and others are lucky. Theamulets are special because they were carved by hands one by one. So, each one is a little different.
