Phra Sangkachai looked after the poor children's in the ancient city, Vaishali. The Buddha had praised Phra Sangkachai for his excellence in explaining the sophisticated Dharma quickly and understandable to people. Phra Sangkachai was also known for composing the Madhupindika Sutta.Phra Sangkachai was worshipped by many farmers in Asia as he is popular for his wealth and grains. One folktale relates that Phra Sangkachai is so handsome that even a man wanted him to be his wife. Another tale relates that Phra Sangkachai is often compared with the Buddha, and he found it inappropriate hence he choose to disguise himself as a fat monk.
