After an invasion by Burmese soldiers the temple was wrecked and remained deserted until the the period of the Rhatanakosin Dynasty, when a sacred monk named Luang Por Rodsur had traveled to the area and found the temple in ruins and without attention of amy monks. As a result he made the decision to renovate the temple himself, and today remains prosperous. It was said that the monk had the power to control fierce animals such as the tiger through his sacred sciences.
